Coventry City Personalised Football Calendar

Terrific Gift Idea For Fans Of The Sky Blues!

Coventry City FC has had many nicknames, many managers and even many stadiums through the past century, but the Sky Blues have also enjoyed much success and more than their fair share of dramatic summers! In addition winning the FA Cup in 1987 after one of the best finals to ever grace the competition, Coventry FC also enjoyed a run of thirty-four years in the top flight. Although the club came close to being relegated numerous times, City always fought to keep themselves up and subsequently became famous for their battling qualities.

Our Personalised Coventry FC Calendars are a terrific gift idea for any fan of the Sky Blues. Featuring a selection of stories on the club from our newspaper archives, these A3 Calendars reminisce upon some of the finest moments from Coventry City's history, bringing back wonderful memories from a selection of magnificent matches.

Calendar Highlights

These Personalised Coventry FC Calendars begin in the 1960s with the arrival of former Fulham player Jimmy Hill as manager. Coventry had profited in the post-war era from a boom in profits at the car factories due to the consumer revolution and with money available to spend, Hill was planning his own revolution at the club. In 1964, crowds of 26,000 watched the Sky Blues become champions of Division Three in a final day 1-0 victory at home against Colchester. In 1967, Coventry City beat Millwall 3-1 in the final game of the season. The club won the Second Division title and guaranteed promotion to the top flight for the very first time.

Jimmy Hill stunned the Sky Blues soon afterwards by leaving his position to go into television work. The club was in shock and injuries to key players also sent Coventry City reeling. The team soon found themselves in a relegation battle, but they would miraculously stay up and then finish sixth in the next season, leading them to a place in the Fairs Cup where they would again beat Wolves. The A3 Calendar features a report on this second Midlands match-up and then a great article on the stunning 4-1 victory away to Trakia Plovdiv in the Fairs Cup first round.

Coventry FC would lose heavily to Bayern Munich in the second round of the Fairs Cup, but cup success would reach the club in 1987, as Coventry City won the FA Cup. There may have been no star names in the Sky Blues, but there was plenty of grit and teamwork. The Coventry City Football Calendar reflects on the 3-2 win against Leeds, before then featuring a report on the famous final against Tottenham.
