Charlton Athletic Personalised Football Calendar

An Original Gift Idea For Fans Of Charlton Athletic!

Charlton Athletic, otherwise known as the Addicks, became a professional football club in 1920. It has since enjoyed several periods in top flight competition, in addition to FA Cup success. Based in the London Borough of Greenwich, one of the club's biggest tussles has actually been with the county council, as following financial difficulties and the rejection of planning permission to rebuild The Valley Stadium, Charlton FC was forced to leave their football home for seven years. The Addicks returned to their own ground in 1992 and redevelopment of the stadium and increased capacity reflects the club's new found security and hopes of building towards future success.

Our Personalised Charlton Athletic Calendars look back over some of the club's greatest games from the past eighty years, as they feature twelve reproduced match reports that we have dug up from our newspaper archives. Starting from the month of your choice, these A3 Calendars are a special gift for any fan of the Addicks.

Calendar Features

These unique Charlton Athletic Calendars feature three games that ensured promotion for the club in 1936, 1975 and 1981 respectively. Back in 1936, Charlton beat West Ham 1-3 to ensure a place in the First Division. This was the second successive promotion for Charlton Athletic, as manager Jimmy Seed guided the club to the top flight from an original place in the Third Division. In 1975, Charlton beat Preston 3-1 to gain promotion to the Second Division and this achievement was repeated in 1981, following a 1-2 victory against Carlisle.

Other special matches featured in the Personalised Charlton Athletic Calendar include the Addicks' 6-3 victory against Brentford in the FA Cup run of 1946, which resulted in an appearance in the final, and the 6-6 draw against Middlesbrough in 1960, which equalled the highest scoring draw ever in English football. Of course we also include the emotional return to The Valley Stadium in 1992, which resulted in a 1-0 Charlton Athletic win against Portsmouth.

From more recent years, this A3 Charlton FC Calendar incorporates home league wins against Southampton in 1998, Aston Villa in 2004 and Tottenham in 2005.
